Another Bleak Midwinter

Traditional Carol with additional lyrics by Cindy Douglas

Please feel free to use. I would ask that you make a donation to a refugee or homeless charity for it’s use.

In the bleak mid-winter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen,
Snow on snow,
snow on snow
In the bleak mid-winter
Not that long ago.

Angels and archangels
May have gathered there,
Now it’s hell not heaven,
bombing everywhere.
Families broken, fleeing
Respite can’t be found.
Always bleak mid winter,
While war continues on.

What shall we give them,
Those who’ve lost so much?
Shelter, food and clothing,
Friendship and some hope?
Sharing joy and kindness,
Is when we’re at our best.
Let love be what define us,
Not ignorance and hate.

Another bleak mid-winter
Frosty winds they moan,
Earth feels hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow keeps falling,
Snow on snow,
snow on snow
In this bleak mid-winter
Now – Not long ago.
